The short version

Lightmorphic Talk does its speech recognition on your own computer. Your voice is never uploaded, never stored on a server, and never sent to us or to anyone else. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Who we are

Lightmorphic Ltd is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17423646, at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE.

The application

Everything the application records or transcribes stays on your machine:

• Your voice is held in memory only while a dictation is being transcribed, then discarded. It is never written to a file we can reach and never leaves the computer.
• Transcripts are typed into whatever application you were using. A history is kept only if you switch it on, and it is stored in a file on your own machine.
• Your personal dictionary and settings are files on your own machine.
• Logs record counts and timings for diagnosis, never the words you dictated.

The application makes exactly two kinds of network request in its life: a one-time download of the speech model on first run, and an update check that happens only when you press the update dot. Neither carries any information about you or about what you have dictated.

This website

The site is a set of static files hosted by GitHub Pages. We set no cookies, run no analytics, and use no tracking pixels. We do not have accounts, and there is no form to fill in.

Like every web host, GitHub receives your IP address and browser user-agent as a technical necessity of serving a page, and may keep short-lived server logs. We do not have access to those logs. GitHub's own privacy practices are described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

One script on this site, the Lightmorphic apps launcher, is loaded from apps.lightmorphic.com, which we operate. It stores nothing on your device and sends nothing about you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to how it is used. Because we hold no personal data about visitors or users, in practice there is nothing for us to return, correct or delete. You can still ask, and we will answer.
